E-safety

Miss Rahman - 15 Oct 2017

e-Safety

e-Safety is an important part of keeping children safe at Downsell Primary School. We have security measures in place in school, which are monitored both internally and externally, to help safeguard pupils from potential dangers or unsuitable material.

Any e-Safety incidents are recorded and managed in accordance with our e-safety policy. e-Safety is taught to all pupils explaining and demonstrating how to stay safe and behave appropriately online.

We can only be successful in keeping children safe online if we work with parents to ensure the e-Safety message is consistent. It is important that parents speak to their children about how they can keep safe and behave appropriately online.

To keep your child safe they should:

• ask permission before using the Internet and discuss what websites they are using

• only use websites you have chosen together or  child friendly search engines

• only email people that they know

• not use their real name when using games or websites on the Internet

• never give out any personal information about themselves  such as home address or school address—they would never invite strangers  home in the real world why on online?

• tell an adult immediately if they see anything they are unhappy with
